What is OEKO-TEX?

OEKO-TEX

OEKO-TEX, also called “Confidence in textiles”, is not immediately something that is widely known. But to concretize, this product label embraces a wide range of certifications and labeling schemes for a wide range of product groups as well as the production behind. The advantage of OEKO-TEX is that manufacturers and customers, through the production of the goods, are able to ensure the sustainable origin of the goods, which have been tested for more than 300 different substances that are harmful to health and the environment.

STANDARD 100

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is a product label that ensures that all components of a given product are tested for harmful substances. The initiative is a voluntary certification scheme consisting of four product classes, each with requirements for the content of harmful substances. The standard for OEKO-TEX is somewhat more comprehensive than the other legislation in the field, which certainly says something about how safe a product brand is. The labeling scheme is the world leader in textiles and semi-finished products, which have been investigated for substances that are harmful to health and the environment. The voluntary and international labeling scheme consists of 15 textile institutes in 60 countries. The scheme was founded in 1992 and since then the main goal has been to set standards for textile institutes.
