Checklist for a parcel that has just arrived
Sep 12, 2026
Short answer: Check that the number of items is right, that the sizes are the ones you ordered, and that there are no faults in the stitching. Try the clothes on before cutting off the tags, and keep the packaging until you know all is well.
Open the parcel calmly
Open the parcel somewhere with space and lay the items out one at a time. Use scissors carefully so you do not cut the clothes or the packaging in case something has to go back. Have the order confirmation ready on your phone or on paper before you start. Then everything you need is in one place.
Count and compare with the order
Go through the order line by line and tick off each item as you find it. A missing item is easiest to spot straight away, while the parcel is still in front of you. Small things like a pair of bamboo panties can hide in the folds of larger pieces, so shake out the packaging and look once more.
Check sizes and colours
Read the size label in each piece and compare it with what you ordered. Two sizes are easily swapped on a busy day, for you and for the warehouse. Check the colour in daylight as well, since a screen does not always show it quite right. If something is wrong, it is better to find out now than in a week.
Try on before the tags come off
With the tags on, a garment can still be returned. So try the clothes on before you cut anything off. Wear them over clean underwear, look at the fit in a mirror and move around a little. A bamboo T-shirt for women should sit comfortably across the shoulders and have a length that suits you.
Check the stitching along the seams
Gently pull at the seams, especially at the shoulders, crotch and waistband. A loose seam on delivery only gets worse with wear. Look for small holes, loose threads and marks as well. With bamboo socks, check the heel and the toe seam, where a fault quickly turns into a hole.
Keep the packaging for a few days
Do not throw the box and bag out straight away. If something needs to go back, it is easier with the original packaging at hand. Put it somewhere out of the way until you have tried everything and are sure you are keeping it. After that it can be sorted as normal waste or reused.
If something is missing
Contact the shop the same day. A missing item is easiest to sort out while the packing and shipment are still fresh in the system. Give the order number and the item concerned, and take a photo of the contents if you can. The more precise your message, the faster the shop can find out what happened.
Wash before first wear
Once you have decided to keep the clothes, it is a good idea to wash them before wearing. Follow the care label and wash with similar colours. Then the clothes are ready to use, and you see straight away how they behave after a wash while you still remember how they looked at the start.
Frequently asked questions
What should you check in a new parcel
That the number of items matches the order, that the sizes are the ones you ordered, and that the stitching is intact. Try things on before cutting off the tags.
Why should the tags stay on
Because most shops require the tag to be attached for a return. If it has been cut off, the return is often refused.
