What has to go in a return shipment

Short answer: The item, the original packaging, the tag and the return slip all need to go in. If anything is missing, the shop may refuse the return or deduct from the refund, so it pays to check the parcel once more.

The item must be unused

An item with the tag still attached and no sign of washing or wear can be returned without discussion. Try clothes on indoors and over your own underwear, so they do not pick up smells or marks. This applies to everything in the Copenhagen Bamboo bestsellers and the rest of the range.

The tag is the clearest proof

The tag shows that the item has not been worn. So do not cut it off until you are sure you want to keep the item. If it has fallen off, put it in the parcel with the item and note it briefly on the return slip.

The packaging belongs in the box

Base layers in particular must be returned in their original packaging for hygiene reasons, and this is stated in the terms. The packaging also protects the item in transit, so it arrives in the same condition it was sent. This also applies to bamboo t-shirts for women if the shop requires it.

The return slip identifies the order

Without a return slip or an order number, the shop cannot match the parcel to your order. It then sits unnamed in the warehouse, and the refund is delayed. Include it when you return a bamboo slip too, and state clearly which items are in the parcel.

Give the reason

Many return slips have a field for the reason, such as too small, too big or not as expected. Fill it in, even if it is optional. It makes handling easier and helps the shop see whether an item fits differently from the size guide.

What should not go in

Do not put personal items in the parcel, and do not return items from a different order. Each order should have its own parcel and its own return slip. If several orders are mixed in one bag, it takes longer to work out what belongs where.

Check the parcel before sealing it

Lay out the items, compare them with the order confirmation and tick them off. Tags on, packaging included, return slip on top. Then seal the bag and put the return label on the outside. Two minutes of checking at home saves you emails with the shop later.

Keep the receipt

When you drop off the parcel, you get a receipt from the parcel shop. It is your proof that the parcel was sent, in case it goes missing. Keep it until the money is back in your account, and take a photo of it with your phone.
