Navy hoodie: the smart version of a hoodie

A hoodie does not have to be loungewear only. The navy blue version is the one most easily worn outside the house, because the dark blue looks tidier than both grey and black, and because the logo is the only detail on the top. The hood is roomy, the pocket sits at the front, and the cut is the classic straight one.

Four fibres, four jobs

The hoodie is woven from 55 % bamboo viscose, 25 % polyester, 15 % organic cotton and 5 % elastane. The bamboo viscose gives the soft inside, the cotton the warmth, the polyester the shape retention and the elastane stretch in the ribbed edges at the wrist and the hem. The temperature stays even

Bamboo viscose helps regulate the temperature and carries moisture away from the skin. In practice this means the hoodie can stay on when you go from a cold courtyard into a warm living room, without having to take it off after five minutes. Choose the size according to how it should fit

The style is unisex from XS to XXL and cut to men's measurements, so it runs large. Your normal size gives the classic hoodie cut with plenty of room across the shoulders. Many women choose one size smaller, and if the hoodie has to fit a jumper underneath, you go one size up.

Dark blue lasts best at 30 degrees

Wash the hoodie inside out at 30 degrees without fabric softener, and let it air dry. Dark blue is among the colours that most clearly lose depth in a warm wash, while on the other hand it stays almost unchanged for years with a cold wash. Why navy looks tidier than black

Black clothing shows lint, dog hair and dust clearly, and when black starts to fade, it looks worn. Navy has both advantages the other way round: the surface hides more, and when the colour becomes a shade lighter over time, it still looks like navy. That is the main reason this particular colour is often the one people end up putting on when the hoodie is to be worn outside the house.

A top for layering

Because the cut is straight and not too short, the hoodie can be worn both on its own and under a jacket without bunching up. The ribbed hem at the bottom keeps it in place so it does not ride up when you put outerwear on over it. It is one of the details that make the jumper work as a mid layer all winter.
