The long ribbed sock in all black is the grown up version of the tennis sock. The same construction as the white classics, the same long elastic leg, but in a colour that blends into a dark wardrobe instead of lighting it up. The pack contains three identical pairs, the model is unisex, and the sizes run from 30/33 to 45/49.

The long leg in black

A long ribbed leg on a black sock does something different from one on a white sock. Where the white one shows itself off, the black one draws an unbroken line from trouser to shoe. With black trousers and black trainers the transition disappears completely, and the leg looks longer. That is why the black ribbed sock has become a fixture in the wardrobe of people who wear dark clothes from head to toe.

The ribbing does the work

The rib knit grips the calf along the whole length of the leg instead of only at the edge. The sock therefore stays up without a single tight elastic band, and there is no red groove on the leg when it comes off in the evening. The leg stands smooth from morning to evening, including in boots, where shorter socks tend to work their way down.

Thick underside, long days

Like the other tennis socks in the range, the model has an underside knitted extra thick. It works as shock absorption against hard floors and makes the sock well suited to working days where you are on your feet for many hours at a stretch. The shaped heel keeps the sock in place, no matter how much the foot works inside the shoe.

The material

The socks are knitted from 75 % bamboo viscose, 23 % polyester and 2 % elastane. The bamboo viscose draws moisture away from the skin and out into the fabric, where it evaporates, so the foot stays dry even in a closed shoe. For the boot season

The long leg really comes into its own when the weather turns to boots and higher trainers. The leg reaches above the edge of the shoe, so the edge never rubs directly against the skin, and the sock stays up even when the foot is working inside a stiff boot all day. The combination of the high leg and the moisture wicking bamboo viscose makes the model an obvious choice from autumn to spring, when the feet otherwise spend the day in warm, closed shoes.

Black is practical

Black socks show neither signs of wear nor laundry accidents, and they can be washed with all the other dark items at 40 degrees. Avoid fabric softener, which impairs the moisture transport, and let the socks air dry, so the ribbing keeps its grip. More advice is found under washing and care.

Size

Choose the range your normal shoe size falls in, and the smaller of two if in doubt. The long leg needs a precise fit in order to sit neatly, and even the best rib cannot hold up a sock that is too big.
