These black tennis socks with white stripes are wonderfully soft because they are made of bamboo. They are especially suitable for people who are on their feet all day as the underside of the foot is woven extra thick.

Bamboo socks are also moisture-wicking and breathable, so they keep your feet fresh all day long.

WASHING AND CARE

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40°C
Wash inside out – especially if there is print
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer
Use detergent without strong enzymes – e.g. wool/silk detergent, preferably fragrance-free
Underwear can be washed at 60°C, but this may shorten the lifespan

DESCRIPTION

Three pairs of black bamboo tennis socks with white stripes

The tennis sock is the only sock in the range with a properly cushioned sole. The underside is knitted extra thick, so there is a layer between the ball of the foot and the shoe all the way from heel to toe. You do not notice it much in the first ten minutes. You do notice it clearly after eight hours on your feet.

Three pairs in black with two white stripes on the ribbed edge. Available in 30/33, 34/39, 40/44 and 45/49, and the model is unisex.

Made for long days on your feet

We sell most of this model to people who work standing up. Nurses, hairdressers, people in kitchens and shops, tradespeople and everyone else who does not sit down during a shift. The thick sole takes some of the pressure under the forefoot, where the pain usually starts, and the high leg keeps the sock in place inside a work shoe, so it does not have to be pulled up ten times a day.

The sock is called a tennis sock because it descends from the sports sock, and it can be used for sport. But it is everyday wear that it is really good for.

The white stripes on the ribbing are the detail that makes it more than a work sock. The model can be worn visibly with shorts and trainers without looking like something you put on for want of anything better, and that is one of the reasons it sells just as well in summer as in winter.

Bamboo against the hot shoe

In cotton, a thick sole would mean a warmer and damper foot. This is where the material saves the model. Bamboo viscose moves moisture away from the skin and out into the fabric, where it evaporates, instead of letting it gather under the foot. The foot therefore does not get clammy, even though there is more fabric than in an ordinary sock.

The fibre is also smooth and round on the surface. It does not scratch, and it does not pill into hard balls under the foot the way a cheap cotton sock does after a few months. We have gathered the other properties under benefits of bamboo viscose.

Composition and certificate

75% bamboo viscose, 23% polyester and 2% elastane. The polyester is what holds the sole together under the load of a working day on your feet, and the elastane keeps the leg up around the calf. The socks are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, cert. no. 976-15301, which means that every single part of the sock has been tested for substances harmful to health. What lies behind the label is set out under what OEKO-TEX Standard 100 means.

Washing

40 degrees together with your dark laundry. Fabric softener should be avoided, as it settles in the fibres and slows the moisture transport, and in a thick sole that is a particular shame. Turn them inside out in the machine, and the cushioned underside comes out cleaner. See washing and care for the rest.

Why only three pairs

The tennis sock uses more yarn than an ordinary sock, and that is why it comes in a three pack, where the thinner models come in five. Three pairs cover a normal working week if you wash midway.

The model also comes in white and in a version with long ribbing. The full range is under bamboo socks for men and socks for men and women.
