Two black bamboo tops with thin straps
The top with thin straps is the most flexible piece among the wardrobe's upper layers: a vest in winter, a top in its own right in summer and the discreet layer under everything sheer and low cut all year round. One top, many roles
Under a loose shirt it is the layer that makes the shirt decent. Under a thin knitted jumper it is the soft middle layer that makes wool bearable. On its own with jeans or a skirt it is the simplest top of the summer, and under a party dress with a low back the thin straps disappear where an ordinary vest would stick out. That is why two at a time makes sense: one of them is always in use.
Straps that can be adjusted
The straps are thin and can be adjusted in length, so the top can be matched both to the neckline of the garment on top and to your own upper body. It sounds like a small thing, but it is the difference between a top that sits smoothly under your clothes and one that bunches or pulls. The side seams hold the shape, so the top does not twist in the wash or in use.
The fabric
The tops are made of 70 % bamboo viscose, 25 % organic cotton and 5 % elastane. The bamboo viscose is smooth and cool against the skin and leads moisture away, so that it evaporates instead of staying put, and a layer that sits directly on the body all day has to be able to do exactly that. The cotton gives the fabric body, the elastane keeps the fit close without pulling. The properties of the fibre are collected under benefits of bamboo viscose.
Certification
The tops are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, cert. no. BJ020 142441, so every component has been tested for harmful substances. For clothes worn directly against the skin, that is the most important label to look for, read more under what OEKO-TEX Standard 100 means.
Summer and winter
In summer the top is a garment in its own right, cool and smooth on hot days when everything else feels like too much. In winter it changes role to the thin warming layer under knitwear and shirts: the bamboo viscose holds on to your body heat without bulking, and the smooth fabric means the outer layer glides on top instead of catching. It is the same top that does both, and that is why it is in use twelve months a year.
Washing
Wash the tops at 30 to 40 degrees with your dark clothes, avoid fabric softener, and let them air dry. They dry quickly, so two in rotation easily cover a whole week with a single wash along the way. More advice is under washing and care.
Size
The style comes in S to XXL and sits close to the body, as a base layer should. Choose your usual size; the elastane provides freedom of movement, and the fabric follows the body without pinching.
