This sock takes the sporting heritage of the tennis sock literally. A white base, a long ribbed leg and stripes in red and blue: this is the look from courts and sports halls, built in a material that can actually cope with active days. Built for days on the move

The underside of the foot is woven extra thick, and that is not decoration. The moisture has to go, not just go out of sight

Active feet sweat, and sweat that stays in the sock is the recipe for both blisters and odour. The socks are knitted from 75 % bamboo viscose, 23 % polyester and 2 % elastane, and the bamboo viscose has been chosen precisely because it moves the moisture away from the skin and out into the fabric, where it evaporates. The stripes sit where they should

The red and blue stripes sit at the top of the long ribbed leg, so they are visible above the shoe, also when you are moving. The rib is knitted elastic along the whole length of the leg and keeps the sock up without pinching, so the stripes stay where they belong instead of disappearing down into the shoe halfway through the day.

Reinforced where sport wears it down

The polyester in the blend is concentrated in the heel, the toe and the sole, that is the three places an active sock wears out first. The elastane holds the fit, so the sock sits just as well after thirty washes as after three. That is the difference between a sock that looks sporty and one that is built for it.

Washing

Wash the socks at 40 degrees with your light laundry. The stripes are colourfast and do not bleed onto the white base. Skip the fabric softener, it lays a film over the fibres and slows down precisely the moisture transport the sock was chosen for. Let them air dry, that way the rib keeps its springiness longest.

Size

Choose the range your normal shoe size falls into, and the smaller of two if you are in doubt. An active sock has to fit closely from the start, because it is folds and loose fabric that cause blisters, not a snug fit.
