Five pairs of dark grey bamboo socks in regular length

This is the classic sock. The leg reaches up the calf the way a sock always has, it does not disappear down into the shoe, and it does not have to be thought about in the morning. The colour is dark grey, and there are five identical pairs in the pack.

Available in 34/39, 40/44 and 45/49, and the model is unisex.

Dark grey is more useful than black

Black is the default choice, but dark grey is often the better one. It goes with the same things, that is dark trousers, jeans and workwear, but it is a little friendlier to look at under a pair of turned up trouser legs, and it sits better with grey and blue shades than black does. At the same time it hides wear and lint in the same way as black, which a light sock does not.

A full length leg has its advantages

A regular leg keeps the sock up all day without needing to be adjusted, and that is an advantage in a boot or a high shoe, where a low model works its way down. In winter it also covers the stretch of leg between sock and trousers that otherwise gets cold when you sit down.

From bamboo plant to yarn

Bamboo is a grass. It grows without irrigation and without pesticides, and it shoots again on its own after harvest instead of having to be sown afresh like cotton. The fibre itself is made by dissolving the cellulose from the plant and spinning it into yarn, and it is that process which gives the smooth and soft surface a cotton fibre does not have. The raw material comes from FSC certified forestry, which means there is documentation of where it was grown. What the label covers is set out on what FSC means.

Composition

75% bamboo viscose, 23% polyester and 2% elastane. The bamboo viscose provides the softness and moves moisture away from the skin. The polyester provides the durability in the heel and toe, where socks go first. The elastane keeps the leg up, so the sock is not left bunched around the ankle by lunchtime. Five identical pairs

Five pairs in the same colour is a practical decision, not a random one. It gives you a clean pair every day of a working week, and after washing they can be paired up without looking, because they are identical. If a pair wears through, it goes out on its own without ruining a set, and the price per pair is lower than buying singly.

Washing

40 degrees together with the rest of your dark laundry. Leave out fabric softener, which settles in the fibres and slows the moisture transport. Air drying is the gentlest, but tumble drying on low heat is acceptable. See washing and care.

Size

Choose by your normal shoe size. If you are between two sizes, take the smaller one, because the sock gives a little after the first few wears. A sock that sits closely from the start ends up fitting, while a sock bought one size too large ends up slipping down into the shoe.
