Three white long-sleeved bamboo T-shirts

White tops wear out fastest. Not because the fabric is weaker, but because they are washed more often: a mark that does not show on black sends a white one straight into the laundry basket. With three you can put together a full machine of light laundry instead of washing a single top at a time, and there is always a clean one when the previous one has gone into the basket. It sounds trivial, but it is the whole difference between wearing white tops in practice and merely having them hang in the wardrobe.

How to keep white white

Always wash them with other white and light items, never with coloureds. White that is washed together with colours slowly takes on a grey or yellowish tone that cannot be washed out again. Use 30 to 40 degrees, avoid fabric softener, and let the tops air dry. Fabric softener leaves a film on the fibres that both makes the fabric worse at moving moisture and makes white look dull. Fit and sleeves

The tops sit close to the body without being tight, the sleeves end at the wrist, and the neck is round and lies flat. On a white top the fit matters even more, because light fabric shows every single crease, and a cut that lies smooth is therefore the difference between neat and messy.

What white can do

A white long-sleeved top is the simplest way to lighten a dark outfit. Under a black blazer, over blue jeans or on its own with a dark skirt, it is the one that brings light to your face. It also works as a clean layer under a thin jumper, where a dark one would show through.

The fabric

The tops are made of 70 % bamboo viscose, 25 % organic cotton and 5 % elastane. The bamboo viscose is smooth and cool against the skin and moves moisture away from the body, so it evaporates instead of staying put, which also means the top stays fresh for longer between washes. The cotton gives body, and the elastane keeps the sleeves and neck in shape.

Where the fabric comes from

Bamboo viscose is made from the fibres of the bamboo plant, which are dissolved and spun into a soft, smooth thread. The certification

The tops are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified under cert. no. BJ020 142441, so all components are tested for harmful substances.

Size

The model comes in sizes S to XXL. Choose your usual size if the tops are to be worn as a layer under other clothes, and go one up if they are mostly to be worn on their own with a looser drape.
