These light gray bamboo low cut socks from Copenhagen Bamboo are incredible soft precisely because they are made of bamboo. The socks keep your feet fresh even on long hot days because they are, among other things, sweat-wicking and breathable.

These super soft socks have a slightly shorter shaft than a regular sock, as some people prefer the sock not to go too far up the leg.
These socks may also be comfortable for some diabetics, due to the slightly shorter shaft.

WASHING AND CARE

To extend the lifespan of your bamboo clothing, we recommend:

Wash at 30–40°C
Wash inside out – especially if there is print
Air dry in the shade instead of using a tumble dryer
Use detergent without strong enzymes – e.g. wool/silk detergent, preferably fragrance-free
Underwear can be washed at 60°C, but this may shorten the lifespan

DESCRIPTION

Five pairs of grey low cut bamboo socks

Low shoes call for low socks. This pack contains five identical pairs in grey with a low cut leg, that is, a sock that ends just above the edge of the shoe instead of continuing up the leg. The model is unisex and comes in sizes 30/33 to 45/49.

What low cut means in practice

The leg is shorter than on an ankle sock, but higher than on a footie, and that is an important difference. The sock can just be glimpsed above the edge of a trainer, and that is precisely why it stays in place. Footies, which hide right down in the shoe, have a tendency to be pulled down under the heel as you walk. The low cut model has the heel and the small amount of leg it takes for that not to happen.

Less elastic around the leg

Because the leg is short, there is no tight edge high on the calf. It shows in the evening, when there are no red grooves in the skin from the elastic. Some prefer the low cut leg for exactly that reason, for example people with swollen ankles or diabetics who want as little pressure on the leg as possible. The sock is, however, ordinary everyday clothing and not a medical product.

Grey between shoe and trouser

In low shoes you only see a strip of the sock, and grey is one of the shades that handles that job best. It does not light up like white and does not disappear into the shadow of the shoe like black. With grey and light trainers it gives a calm, even look, and at the same time it hides everyday dust better than either extreme.

The material

The socks are knitted from 75 % bamboo viscose, 23 % polyester and 2 % elastane. The bamboo viscose makes the sock soft and leads moisture away from the foot, which matters more in a low shoe than in any other, because here the foot often sits directly in trainers without much ventilation. Polyester reinforces the heel and toe, and elastane keeps the fit. A full run through of the fibre can be found under facts about bamboo, and if you are curious about how bamboo becomes soft yarn, the process is described under how bamboo viscose is made.

Size and fit

Choose the range with your normal shoe size, and choose down if you are between two. A low cut sock has to sit tightly enough that the heel stays where it is. If you buy too big, a fold forms under the instep, and that is the one you feel as a wrinkle in the shoe in the middle of the day.

Which shoes it suits

The model is designed for low shoes: trainers, loafers, boat shoes and the low canvas shoes of summer. In all four cases the low cut leg lets the shoe stand on its own, while the sock does the practical work with moisture and friction inside the shoe. For boots and higher shoes a regular length is the better choice, because there the leg has to reach above the edge of the shoe so as not to chafe.

Five identical pairs

Five identical grey pairs means that pairing up after washing is never a problem, and that the wear is spread evenly across the whole pack. Should the size turn out to be wrong after all, we will of course exchange it. The rules are under returns.

The same low model comes in black, white, navy and army green, as well as in mixed packs with several colours. You will find them all under bamboo socks, and the selection aimed at women is under socks for women.
