Five pairs of dark grey low cut bamboo socks

Dark grey is the most overlooked colour in the sock drawer, and at the same time the most useful. It goes with everything black goes with, but it is a touch softer to look at, and it suits grey and blue trousers better than the black one does. Here are five identical pairs with a low leg in bamboo viscose.

Low leg

The leg stops just above the edge of the shoe, so shorter than an ankle sock. There is therefore less elastic around the leg, and the sock does not leave the groove in the skin that an ordinary sock can give after a long day. The heel is shaped so that the sock stays in place even though the leg is low.

Five identical pairs

We sell them five at a time, because that is how socks are actually used. Five identical pairs mean that you can put on a clean pair every day of a working week, and that you can pair them up without looking when the laundry has to be folded. There is no pile of odd socks left over, and the price per pair is lower than buying singly.

Material

75 % bamboo viscose, 23 % polyester and 2 % elastane. The bamboo viscose is the soft part. The fibre is smooth and round on the surface, it does not scratch the skin, and it moves moisture away from the foot and out into the fabric, where it evaporates. The polyester gives durability in the heel and the toe, where socks usually wear through first, and the elastane holds the shape.

The material is also temperature regulating, which means that it holds the warmth in the winter and leads it away in the summer. That is why the same pair can be worn all year, both in a boot in January and in a trainer in July.

The socks are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, cert. no. 976-15301. That means every single element of the sock has been tested for substances harmful to health.

Where the bamboo comes from

The raw material is grown without irrigation and without pesticides, and the plant grows back on its own after harvest, unlike cotton, which has to be sown afresh every season. Washing

40 degrees together with the rest of your dark laundry. Leave out fabric softener, as it settles in the fibres and slows the moisture transport. Air drying is the gentlest. See washing and care for the details.

Size

Choose by your normal shoe size. If you fall exactly between two sizes, take the smaller one. Bamboo viscose gives a little during the first few wears, and a sock that sits closely from the start ends up fitting precisely, whereas a loose sock ends up slipping.
